Whatcom Sports & Recreation, along with Phillips 66, is proud to sponsor the 2021 Rimland Rebel Cup. This tournament will focus on bringing a high level of boys’ and girls’ teams, between the ages of 8 -19, throughout the Western United States and Western Canada to the Phillips 66 Soccer Park.

Please pay using a check, money order, or cashier’s check in US Funds or pay on-line with a credit card. If paying by check please make sure to include your online registration number on your check and payable to WSR (Whatcom Sports & Recreation).

Payments must be received by August 1, 2021, to Rimland Rebel Cup Tournament, 1225 Civic Field Way, Bellingham, WA 98229. Please note that the tournament at a particular age group may fill up prior to the deadline date and we cannot guarantee acceptance the closer to the deadline.

Please note: Out of Washington state teams are required to obtain appropriate travel papers from state or provincial association.
CONCUSSION COMPLIANCE
PLEASE NOTE: All players are required to be in concussion compliance per Washington State Law. If you are an Washington team, your final roster must reflect concussion compliance. If your squad is from outside of Washington, you must have a signed copy of the Concussion Compliance Informed Consent form for each player available for review at check-in. ENTRY FEE
U9-U10 $450 / U11-U12 $550.00 and U13-19 $650.00 per squad in US funds. Checks or money orders need to be made payable to WSR (Whatcom Sports & Recreation). The team’s applications are not considered complete until fees are paid in full. Entry fee refunds shall not be made after August 1, 2020. We will continue to accept applications after the deadline date if there is space available, otherwise, your check will be returned and you will be placed on a waiting list.
TOURNAMENT LOCATION
Phillips 66 Soccer Park, 5238 Northwest Drive, Bellingham WA and potentially at Ferndale High School depending on the number of squads attending. The Phillips 66Soccer Park is one of the finest soccer complexes in the Northwest, featuring a fully equipped concession building and restroom facility, two lighted turf fields, and 31 acres of lush green grass with a breathtaking view of Mt. Baker. The Phillips 66 Soccer Park is located in Northwest Washington State, just 10 minutes from downtown Bellingham and 20 minutes from the Canadian border. Ferndale HS, located 5 minutes away from Phillips 66 Soccer Park, will have 3 high quality grass fields which may be used in the event of the number of teams applied. This region offers spectacular sightseeing opportunities from the mountains to the sea. Hotels, shopping and entertainment are only minutes away.
ACCEPTANCE
The Phillips 66 Rimland Challenge is focused on providing high level tournament competition for both girls and boy’s squads. In an attempt to provide the highest level of competition teams will be accepted based on: 1) Out of state 2) Overall team strength 3) Previous tournament history. The Rimland Challenge strives to create equitable levels of competition and if we have enough teams we will form a second tier bracket within an age group.
FORMAT
The Rimland Challenge divisions are established to attempt to field the strongest levels of competition possible. Where applicable we will attempt to have two divisions PREMIER (upper level) and COPA (lower level) at each age group to provide appropriate levels of competition. Teams will play in a four team matrix whenever possible and be guaranteed at least three games. U9-U12 will play 50 minute matches (25 minute halves) and U13-19 will play 60 (30 minute halves) minute matches. U9 & U10 will play 7 v 7 on a 30 yd x 50 yd field. U 11 & U12 teams will play 9 a-side on a 50 yd x 90 yd field. U13-19 will play 11 a-side on full size fields. The U18/19 age groups will be a combined age group. We reserve the right to combine or modify age divisions should the need arise to balance competition.

SCHEDULE
We anticipate schedules to be available beginning the week of August 3, 2020. We try to accommodate all requests for late games on Friday. However, this is not always possible. Please be prepared to play a match as early as 2 PM on Friday afternoon. All teams will be scheduled to play one game on Friday and two games on Saturday. Semifinal and finals will be played on Sunday.
AWARDS
1st and 2nd place winners in each division will receive individual awards and one team award.
WITHDRAWING FROM THE TOURNAMENT
After July 31, 2021, teams wishing to withdraw from the tournament must notify us in writing. There will be no refunds issued to teams withdrawing after July 31, 2021. Prior to July 31, 2021, teams wishing to drop out must notify us in writing; refunds will be issued less a $25.00 handling fee.
