THE COACHES
"A good coach will make his players see what they can be rather than what they are" - Ara Parseghian
Our club is dedicated to building its success with enthusiastic, committed coaches. The Alliance is made up of parents that share the love of soccer and wish to provide their kids the best options possible to continue their growth in the sport.

Coach Jerimy Saldivar
Jerimy lives in Lynden with his wife and 4 kids. Growing up in Mount Vernon, WA, soccer was introduced early playing for Skagit Select, Whatcom Rangers and Mount Vernon High School.
Involvement with youth soccer started even before his oldest was playing, coaching his younger cousin while in highschool for the Sedro-Woolley Youth Soccer program. With an encouraging, vocal coaching style he is determined to make his players feel they can accomplish anything they set their mind to and work hard to get it.

Coach Tim Newcomb
Tim lives in Lynden with his wife and three daughters. Growing up in Portland, sports has always been a key part of his life and so when his daughters entered the sports-playing age he was right along with them playing and coaching.
He has coached youth soccer (as well as youth basketball and high school tennis) for over six years at a variety of ages and in various programs in Whatcom County, as well as covered the 'beautiful game' as a journalist from Seattle to London and Portland to Philadelphia, interviewing the likes of David Beckham, Landon Donovan and Christie Rampone. He tries to encourage the girls through an engaging style, teaching skills and strategies while expecting dedication and effort.
Coach James Rowe
James, born and raised in beautiful Bellingham, currently resides out in the county with his soccer loving family. He has been active in sports his entire life with his main focus being on soccer. He played with Rangers from U12 through U19 and played for the first Rangers team to win the state cup. James also played for Sehome High school. With 32 years playing experience he still actively plays today.
In the last four years of his kids burgeoning soccer careers, he has very much enjoyed coaching for the Whatcom Youth Soccer Association, encouraging a love of the game in this next generation. And, for the past year, he has been assistant coach to Josh Howell for the Rebel boys 06 squad.
James is a positive and encouraging individual and his coaching reflects that. His focus is on individual attention to maximize each players potential while teaching team concepts. Hard work and a good attitude are important to James as it sets the standard for learning. You can expect a fast paced/aggressive style of soccer.
Coach Josh Howell
Josh lives in Lynden with his wife Kim and 3 kids. Originally from North Carolina (yes, he still has a funny accent) Josh enjoyed playing all levels of competition from high school to premiere travel teams. His highlight and most interesting experience has to be the opportunity to play in the Cape Town South Africa 3rd division.
Training with Josh a player can expect an up lifting, instructive, and high energy session focusing on their technical development and how that relates to their overall tactical understanding of the game.
